Flovent. Common Uses.

Atemur contains a synthetic glucocorticoid and is used as a preventative measure against asthma symptoms. Glucocorticoids are natural substances found in the body that fight inflammation and reduce the swelling and irritation in the walls of the small air passages in the lungs and ease breathing problems.

Flovent. How to Take.

Shake the inhaler well for 15 seconds immediately before each use. Breathe out through the mouth. Place the mouthpiece in the mouth, closing the lips around it. Alternatively, the inhaler may be positioned 1 to 2 inches away from the open mouth. While breathing in deeply and slowly through the mouth, plress down firmly and fully on the top of the metail canister with your index finger. Continue to inhale and try to hold your breath for 10 seconds. Before breathing out, remove the inhaler from your mouth and release your finger from the canister. Wait about 30 seconds and shake the inhaler again. Repeat steps 3 through 5 for each inhalation prescribed by your doctor. Replace the mouthpiece cap after each use. Rinsing your mouth after inhalation is advised.

Flovent. Warning and Precautions.

Atemur not designed or intended to replace a patients fast-acting inhaler for sudden asthma attacks. Atemur is an inhaled steroid. If you are being switched from an oral steroid tablet to fluticasone, you may experience joint pain, muscle pain, weakness, depression, or fatigue while your body adjusts to the absence of steroid tablets and increases its own production of steroids. You may also experience eye inflammation, eczema, arthritis, and nasal inflammation. People taking steroid medications run an increased risk of infections such as chickenpox and measles. High doses of steroid medications such as fluticasone can cause a condition known as Cushing's syndrome. The risk of developing Cushing's syndrome and other side effects increases when you take other steroid medications while using fluticasone. Prednisone and dexamethasone are examples of oral steroid medications. Also be sure to check with your doctor before combining fluticasone with ketoconazole (Nizoral) or HIV drugs known as protease inhibitors.

Flovent. Missed Dose.

When you happen to miss a dose of Flonase, it is ok to take one after an hour or so but if an hour has already passed, just skip the missed dose and proceed with the next one.

Flovent. Overdose.

The symptoms of Flonase Overdose are:

• Acne
• Blurred vision
• Bone fractures
• Excess hair growth
• Increase in urination
• Thirst
• Menstrual changes
• Lack of menstruation
• Muscle wasting
• Weakness
• Rounding of face
• High blood pressure
• Impotence in males

If you suspect overdose and the above symptoms are present immediately consult your doctor or seek emergency medical attention immediately.

Flovent. Storage.

Store at room temperature between 39-86 degrees F (4-30 degrees C) away from light. Do not store in the bathroom. Keep all medicines away from children and pets.

Side effects may include agitation, aggression, back problems, bad taste in mouth, brittle bones, bronchitis, bruising, cataracts, congestion, cough, depression, diarrhea, dizziness, dry mouth, dry nose, eye problems, facial changes, fever, flu, headache, hives, hoarseness, indigestion, itching, loss of speech, mouth infection or swelling, nasal congestion, nasal irritation or burning, nasal sores, nausea, nosebleeds, respiratory tract infection, runny nose, sinus problems, sneezing, sore throat, stunted growth, vomiting, weight gain, wheezing, worsening of asthma.
